Why do you need a clutch kit, and what is it for?
This guide will help you choose the right clutch kit for your CFMOTO ATV.
ATV manufacturers calibrate their standard clutches for general use and for the factory-fitted stock tires. In general use they work reasonably well, but when you want to tailor the ATV for a specific purpose, the drivetrain can easily be adjusted to suit with a clutch kit.
At the bottom of the page you'll find a chart to help you choose the right kit based on your CFMOTO model, intended use, and tire size.
On the other hand, manufacturers try to build ATVs that are "okay everywhere." That also means the base machine isn't outstanding in any particular use or in challenging terrain.
If you want to improve your ATV's performance and driveability, that's easy to do with a Vauhti Varikko clutch kit.
Kits improve efficiency, meaning power is transferred from the engine to the wheels more effectively. Gear ratios can also be changed, or the CVT (variator) improved, so that drive is optimal at every speed and rpm range.
If you increase your tire size by 2" or more over stock, installing a clutch kit is highly recommended.
Kits can be used to correct the change in gearing. Larger tires have a considerably longer rolling circumference than stock tires. That changes the gearing, and the stock transmission (variator) no longer works correctly.
Clutch kits for muddy terrain and big tires
Big-lug mud tires are heavy, which increases rotating mass. On top of that, their rolling resistance in soft terrain is far greater than with stock tires.
Increased rolling resistance and weight are poison for a stock clutch. But with a clutch kit, you can fix the situation and save the belt when things get tight!

Here's some guidance and tips to help you choose the right kit for your use:
TRAIL & WORK
The most popular and best choice for versatile use.
If you're not sure which kit you want, or simply want to get the most potential out of your ATV, choose TRAIL & WORK.
True to its name, it works excellently on trails, in the terrain, in work use, and in general use. The ATV's handling changes noticeably, belt durability improves, and power is transferred more efficiently from the engine to the wheels.
Works well with stock-size tires and up to 2" larger.

MUD & BIG TIRE
When you increase tire size more than 2" over stock, we recommend the MUD & BIG TIRE kit.
The same kit also works well with coarser off-road tires in muddy and soft terrain.
So when tire size increases, rolling resistance goes up, and you ride a lot in soft terrain, choose this clutch kit.

If your riding is mostly on roads and long distances, we recommend the ADVENTURE or ROAD clutch kit.
These are designed so that at cruising speed the rpm drops by roughly 500–800 rpm compared to normal.
This naturally reduces fuel consumption and makes riding more comfortable, since the engine doesn't "scream" at such high revs.
These also come in model-specific versions for different tire sizes, so factor that into your choice as well!
